Curriculum Overview
We believe in enriching our children's hearts and minds through interest based learning.
Core Subjects
(Math, Reading, Writing, Science, & History)
These subjects are taught with Milestone’s own structure and format. The way we teach these subjects is through project based learning. We do not teach these by sitting at a desk all day. We understand the importance of these subjects, but are aware that children only really remember what they are learning in a way that leaves a lasting impression.
We will utilize the student’s specific learning style to teach through interest based learning. This will include projects, games, and experiments to teach these subjects.
We understand the importance and the growth of a child in all areas. At Milestone Manor, they will learn without even knowing they are!
Enhance Language Development
Only 10% of communication is actually verbal. 90% of every message is conveyed without words (via our vocal tones, facial expression, body language, etc).
With the introduction of American Sign Language (ASL), as well as Spanish, students will utilize every learning method (visual, audio, kinesthetic, etc) to sharpen the efficacy of all their communication. In their daily group time with a Deaf Instructor, students will naturally grow proficient in basic conversational ASL.
The language acquisition will happen organically, and will be an unbelievable difference from beginning to end of each semester.
Early exposure to multiple languages improves listening/comprehension, as well as eye contact and appropriate social skills.
Music/Theatre
Students will build memory skills through song and expressive performance. Whether learning to sign a song in ASL, or memorizing scripture to a familiar tune, music will be woven into just about every elective subject. Students will get to select their roles in all class music videos, PSAs, and multiple creative play projects. They will also learn how to run a camera and frame up a dynamic shot.
Fine Arts
At the core of Milestone Manor is the soul of how we all learn. Education through the arts is the heartbeat of our program. Students will grow their artistic skills through painting, sketching, sculpting, and mixed-media art. They will enjoy the process as much as the finished product.
Natural Science
We can't have an educational program without rolling up our sleeves and playing in the dirt at some point. From water cycles, butterfly life cycles, and plant/garden growth, our classes will celebrate the wonder of creation in God's perfect design.
Physical Education
"PE" is more than just getting your heart rate up! In our physical eduation class, students will be exposed to a variety of sports they can try and fall in love with. Between our structured play and free play, the students at Milestone Manor will learn the value of stewarding their body through movement and health!
Cooking/ Baking
Students will learn the very important skills of cooking and baking. They will also enjoy the fruit of their labor by taste testing what they have created. We not only want to educate children on how to create amazing meals and treats, but also the importance of what we put in our bodies and the nourishment food brings to us!
Homesteading
From growing a garden to preserving food, our students will learn the life skills of how to be self sufficient! In a time where foraging and bringing food from the farm to table is rare, we want our students to understand the skills and value the ancient ways of creating and building!
Spiritual Enrichment
"Kids won't remember everthing you said, but they'll remember how you made them feel." Students will not even realize they are learning scripture when it comes naturally in the form of a song. Through music, worship, re-enacted Bible stories, basic prayer and friendship, students will learn what it feels like to be a child of God.
"For those who are lead by the Spirit of God, are the children of God." Romans 8:14

"When my daughter was in elementary school she said: “Why can’t school be more fun, like VBS or a summer camp, where we still learn a lot, but are also having fun?! Why does it have to be so boring?” Back then my answer was: “Great idea! One day, when you grow up, you can start something like that, and for now just go to school.” I’m glad that now, because of the Milestone Manor, such an option exists!”
N. Khomyak
"My child has been a part of some sort of program since she was born whether that be daycare or pre K programs. With all the other programs she did, she went but wasn’t excited to go and loved when she got to stay home. It is the opposite now. She literally wishes she could go to Milestone on the weekends and through the summer. That’s how much she loves Milestone Manor!”
